Growing up with brothers and on a farm/ranch

my outfit was On Point!

Growing up in the country on a ranch, then turned into more of a farm. Along with the farm/ranch I have all brothers, 2 older, 2 younger made for quite the adventures growing up.

We had cows (beef cows), horses, pigs, chickens and many dogs and cats.. I lived to be outside, I was a Tom boy. My mom was always trying to get me to be more of a girl and stay in and do girl stuff..haha I would have dolls, if I remember right, I’d have all the hair shaved/ or cut off . I would enjoy them from time to time, but some good memories come from many hours in the designated sandbox but in reality the sandbox was pretty much the outdoors on a farm/ranch. My brother and I would build roads and bridges and farms etc.. then we’d play cowboys and Indians, check on the horses and all the animals we’d have and would like to report on their status when we’d walk in the house.

My dad would have a huge garden, maybe a 1/4 of an acre of garden. I remember being out there with him, him with his shovel damming up one row to go to the next one..this made the makings for the best mud pies. Id love to feel the mud squish between my toes and fingers and hanging our with my dad was the best!

My brothers built this ultimate fort (in the picture above) it had a ladder inside to go to the top of the fort/look out. Now that was a fort! Many important meetings took place in that fort.

I look forward to sharing my amazing and fun adventures I had “back in the day”. It was a great childhood!
