The ultimate Sugar Cookies….seriously!
I make this and disappear instantly …and most of the time its just the cookie I make. These are the perfect cookies for a mini fruit pizza as well. Frosting recipe below as well.

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of unsalted butter (I’ve used salted and turned out great)
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- these are perfect for fruit pizzas, so grab a variety of fresh fruit
Cream cheese Frosting
- 5 Tbsp salted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Cookies: preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl whisk together dry ingredients flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar.
- In bowl or mixer cream together butter and sugar until combined and a pretty fluffy look
- Mix in egg yolk , egg and vanilla. Then add the flour mixture slowly so you won’t get flour all over you.. mix until all combined
- I like to use my cookie scooper dropper..haha or like 1 1/2 Tbsp of dough shaped in a ball. Place on cookie sheet , I line mine with parchment paper or if you have a silicone mat.
- Bake in preheated oven 10-12 minutes… trick here is take them out when they still look slightly under baked. This is where the soft chewy cookies come from.
