The ultimate Sugar Cookies….seriously!

I make this and disappear instantly …and most of the time its just the cookie I make. These are the perfect cookies for a mini fruit pizza as well. Frosting recipe below as well.

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter (I’ve used salted and turned out great)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • these are perfect for fruit pizzas, so grab a variety of fresh fruit

Cream cheese Frosting

  • 5 Tbsp salted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  1. For the Cookies: preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl whisk together dry ingredients flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar.
  2. In bowl or mixer cream together butter and sugar until combined and a pretty fluffy look
  3. Mix in egg yolk , egg and vanilla. Then add the flour mixture slowly so you won’t get flour all over you.. mix until all combined
  4. I like to use my cookie scooper dropper..haha or like 1 1/2 Tbsp of dough shaped in a ball. Place on cookie sheet , I line mine with parchment paper or if you have a silicone mat.
  5. Bake in preheated oven 10-12 minutes… trick here is take them out when they still look slightly under baked. This is where the soft chewy cookies come from.
